Family Promise is a national non-profit organization dedicated to helping low-income families achieve sustainable independence. The local office is located in the right-hand wing of the First Presbyterian Church on Bogard Road in Wasilla. This office serves as both a working space for the staff and a day center for families to use while in the program. St. David’s is a partner church, volunteering to prepare meals, serve as evening and overnight hosts, and provide other material needs.

The Firewood Ministry provides firewood to those who need it. Church members work to cut and haul firewood, keeping some at church for easy access.

The Holiday Outreach Ministry helps our community provide directly for the needs of others during the holiday season. Mostly known for food baskets and Angel Tree gifts, this group seeks to meet the needs of those around us.

Valley Christian Conference (VCC) seeks to maximize our mutual work as we serve Christ together. Eleven mainline denomination churches work together to create and support community ministries. Current ongoing ministries include Valley Residential Services, MVCCA (Turn A Leaf), Daybreak Social Services, and the Food Pantry. The VCC board, composed of clergy and lay representatives from each member congregation, meets regularly to receive reports from each of the ministries. The VCC board is also responsible for appointing board members for the governing of its various ministries.
